New grant awarded!

Great news! Last week Optical Molecular Imaging Groningen recieved a grant from UMCG Kanker Researchfonds. This grant will enable us to do our research regarding real-time tumor visualization and intraoperative pathology assisted surgery (IPAS) in breast cancer patients. Our aim is to explore and show the benefit of intraoperative decision making based on fluorescence by reduction of the number of tumor-positive margins after surgery.

This study will follow-up on the earlier Margin study, which was performed by Koller et al. as part of the OMIG group. That study can be found here.
